About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Jurnal Biologi Universitas Andalas translated Journal on Biology of Andalas University (JBioUA) is a scholarly periodical. Jurnal Biologi Universitas Andalas publishes research papers, technical papers, conceptual papers, and case study reports. Jurnal Biologi Universitas Andalas’s first edition published in 2012. The journal maintained by the Biology Department at Universitas Andalas, Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia and addresses recent trends on biodiversity and conservation. Discussions on hard systems are welcome if it optimizes the soft systems aspects as well as stated in the focuses and scopes. Jurnal Biologi Universitas Andalas works closely with Konsorsium Biologi Indonesia (KOBI), which provides editorial members, peer reviewers, and authors, both are professional institutions related to Jurnal Biologi Universitas Andalas's aims and scopes.

Peer Review Process
The enrollment and article submission are processed by using OJS submission or through email. The editor will respond upon each article before delivered to the two reviewers. The reviewers will check the article and give some corrections, particularly about its content. We use a blind review method so that the author should not able to recognize the reviewers of their article exactly (blind review system). All the corrections must be responded and revised by authors right away and send them back to us via the OJS system and/or to our email (ejurnalbioua@gmail.com). Both editor and reviewers will double check the article as the final check before publishing. Once the article ready to publish, the author will be asked to manage some of administration things included the fee.
Publication Frequency
The first issue had been published in November 2012. In this period, only 2 issues published for each volume. This had been changed as 4 issues published per volume from 2013 until 2015. In 2016, the editorial board's meeting had made a decision to again publish just 2 issues per volume. This regulation is still valid until now.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

We had done with the self-evaluation provided by ARJUNA (National Journal Accreditation) that put this journal at the stage of Sinta 3. This journal had also been indexed by Google Scholar, IPI, PKP, Garuda, Dimensions. This journal also has the metadata shared with Crossref.
